The Internet is a growing aspect of our everyday lives. As little as 4 years ago, the average American spent 0 hours a day on the Internet, up to 2 hours a day listening to the radio and up to 5 hours a day watching TV. However, in the past 4 years, the average American has been spending more time on the World Wide Web. As a matter of fact, some Americans spend up to 6 hours a day viewing the Net. A few days ago I read an article stating that
over 50,000 Americans a day get their first glimpse of the net. In a new world where your .com has become as important as your phone number or address, decisions and changes have to be made to take advantage of today's fastest growing media.
First, lets look at the basics. If you have ever been on the
Internet you have probably noticed that there is a vast number of websites on any given
subject. For example, if I were to search for insurance on the web, there would be up to 7 million results sent back to me. Thusly, the odds of you finding a local insurance agent on the web is somewhere in the range of 100 out of 7
Million, given that there are 100 local agents on the web. So, how do I find local insurance agents on the web? Most likely, by an advertisement such as a TV commercial, newspaper ad, radio spot, or a business card with a .com address printed on it. In our eyes, the Internet should be another form OF advertising rather than another thing TO advertise. That is why we developed
Jacksonlocal.com and the LOCAL PAGE™
Concept.
