| Self Poor Trait has Ike Lea to thank for its existence. One of Christopher's first assignments in his digital class was a self portrait. Now understand, like many photographers, and image creators, Christopher din't like having his photograph taken. But Mr. Lea insisted that it was a requirement for the class. So Christopher went into the studio with a friend (who helped with the camera), with an incredibly vague and used idea. That idea was of being sucked into the computer. That idea had taken form previously with his Vampyre shot. Being that Vampyre was almost complete at that time, Christopher had to think of a new image. While prepping the studio, he noticed this large video display in the next room. As soon as Christopher saw that display he got the basic idea of this image. Christopher took several shots of himself sitting with this large (and heavy) display on his lap, and several more with himself making faces into the camera. When Christopher got the digital files to the classroom, he began to 'play'. The image evolved into this. Christopher also had one heck of a time with the correct spelling of portrait, hence the name of the image! |
